High jump practise

Today we were practising high jump for athletics day next Friday 

Making nets for a purpose

Last term we drew different nets for 3D shapes using connectable 2D shapes.
This term we have measured a block, added 1 cm onto all the measurements and then drawn a net to make a box for the block.

Term 3 Kiwi Sport Netball

Last term we all learnt new skills in netball through kiwi sport. Lots of fun was had by all!

Maths buddy

Room 6 is using maths buddy for free this term! They have set tasks each week to complete and are encouraged to try the next year level up if it was easy. 

It is a great learning tool as it teaches a skill using a video and then asks questions based on the learnt skill and marks them. 

Blindness experience

Last week we got the chance to meet a blind friend of Miss Graham's. He brought in his guide dog, answered lots of questions and taught us how to play goalball. We wore different blindfolds to experience full and partial blindness. It was hard work relying on our ears instead of our eyes!

Foot and mouth painting

We are learning about different disabilities. Yesterday we learnt how some people have not given up their dreams of painting and how they have learnt to adapt to cope with their disability. Most foot and mouth painters we looked at had had a motorbike, pool or rugby accident. We experienced what it was like to paint with either our feet our mouth. The challenge was to paint a autumn tree.
